As we discussed at training a really disappointing performance, as you said some players gave up which let the rest of the team down especially Jonny in goal.

 

Positives

 

- There was some good pieces of passing

- Great goalkeeping from Jonny

 

Learning Points

 

- Each player must give maximum effort from the start to the end, if you do that whatever the score you are a winner, if you don't you let your team and yourself down.

21st October 2007 - Avonvale

An excellent first half performance against the joint top team in the league. We struggled in the 2nd half but with injuries we were virtually playing with 10 players which made it very tough against a good side.

 

Positives

 

• Excellent first half performance, all the team sticking to their positions
• You all kept trying your best right to the end of the game

Learning Points

 

• Never to throw the ball out to defenders
• Go with the runners rather than ball watching (we will work on this in training)

Coaches Player of the Match - Dan, excellent chasing back and good use of the ball.

Captains Player of the match - Taz - good simple passing, worked hard for the team, won lots of tackles.

I just thought I would send you a note to congratulate your team, supporters and yourself  in respect of the manner in which the game was played yesterday.  

 

I thought it was a thrilling and very open end to end game yesterday which any team could have won. It was really refreshing to see your teams and their supporters attitude to the game.  They were all enthusiastic, ever encouraging and never question/criticising any referring decisions or each other.  Sadly these days this is so unusual at many of the youth games. 

 

Well done Wanborough you show the spirit in which all junior football should be played!

14th October v Eldene - Coaches View

For the team to be two goals down so early on but not to give up and get back into the game said a lot about your determination, a really good team performance.

 

Positives

 

• Good use of the ball when attacking
• Brave goalkeeping
• Never give up attitude

Learning Points

 

• To compete from the start of the game

 

Coaches Award - Gareth, hard working performance for the team, tackling back, good skill when taking players on and use of the ball.

Captains Award - John for good tackling and supporting the defence when they were under pressure.

 

7th October 07 v Croft - Coaches View

The first 25 minutes was the best we have played at 11 a side against an excellent Croft team. It was a tough game but the key point was that we didn't give up right to the end.

Positives

• We played well when all of the team stuck to their positions
• Midfield tracked back
• Good counter attacking

Learning Points

• Keep concentrating and stay in position for the whole game

14th October - Eldene - Important

We now have a game this Sunday away to Eldene, meet at Eldene School at 10.00 for a 10.30 kick off. Reminder that from the 15th October training for the under 12's is at Zurich from 19.00 to 20.00.
